Online classes for ITI students: Punjab Technical Education and Industrial Training Department has started online classes for ITI students to provide training to them.There are E-Learning content available for theoretical subjects of 34 trades. 

NSDC partners British Council EnglishScore: NSDC has partnered with British Council EnglishScore to offer a free English test and certificate to one lakh Indians. The EnglishScore app can be downloaded to complete the test and enter code ‘NSDC2020’ for a free certificate.

Special skill development program by Renault India: Renault India has started a special skill development program and online training of its network sales teams. It is also taking steps to support the customers and dealer partners during this crisis. It is relaxing the warranty and periodic service schedules for the customers. Read more…

Skill Based Gaming as an alternative career for today’s generation: Due to digital revolution the demand for profitable, unconventional careers has grown. Skill Based Gaming is  a perfect option for an alternative career in today’s scenario as it is quite promising and is evolving with each day.

Andhra Pradesh to collaborate with overseas organisations: To add an international touch to the state’s competencies in professional skills, Andhra Pradesh is planning to collaborate with international organisations so that the courses in Skill Development Universities (SDUs) meet the international standards. 

Skill development opportunities for the homeless in Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation has introduced skill-based training among beggars and the homeless in the city. IT aims to train the labourers and migrant workers so that they can earn a livelihood once lockdown is over.

Online classes for ITIs and polytechnics in Kolkata: The state Technical Education, Training and Skill Development department has started online classes for students of ITIs and polytechnic colleges across the state. All educational institutions in the state are closed till June 10

25,000 double-layered masks for Kerala police: NSTI will provide 25,000 double-layered masks to the Kerala police to help them fight with COVID-19 and stay safe. Kerala police will provide all the materials and support for producing the masks.

The YouTube Learning Destination is a separate section within the YouTube app.

Multiple steps by MSDE to help the nation fight COVID-19: MSDE has taken a number of steps to help the nation fight the COVID-19 and help the various stakeholders overcome the hardship. It has sent contact details of 1,75,000 healthcare professionals to all Chief Secretaries. MSDE has contributed at least one day’s salary by all officers/staff to the PM CARES Fund.

Andhra Pradesh to have more skill development centres: To make the youth industry ready, the Andhra Pradesh Government is planning to have Skill training centres in every assembly constituency. The youth trained in the skill development centre should meet the industry demands. Read more…

17th Chapter of FICCI FLO launched: FICCI FLO launched its 17th chapter ‘FLO Bhubaneswar Chapter’ virtually. A webinar on ‘Agricultural Rejuvenation’ was also organised during the launch.

MSDE trains 1,75,000 health professionals: 1,75,000 health professionals got trained under MSDE Skill ecosystem provided to States in order to help the nation fight the COVID-19 crisis. The skills of the professionals trained under the skill ecosystem could be utilized for isolation and quarantine duties under COVID-19.

Extensive online resources for ITI students by MSDE: MSDE has launched extensive online resources for ITI students. The resources were launched through the Directorate General of Training for around 2 million students. The complete curriculum is available through video lessons, mock tests etc.

Apprentices should be nurtured to tackle challenges in future job scenarios: Engaging and nurturing apprentices will help employers tackle the lack of employable talent issues post-COVID-19 crisis. The government’s announcement of ensuring that 2.43 lakh apprentices will be paid stipends is a crucial step in this context. Read more…

NSDC encourages skill enthusiasts to learn new skills: NSDC is encouraging skill enthusiasts to acquire new skills and utilize their time effectively. NSDC has also launched an eLearning portal with more than 400 courses. ESkillIndia has partnered with EnglishScore, SAS India, Saylor Academy (USA) and UpGrad to provide the learners with varied online opportunities. Read more…
