Government launches ‘Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan’: In a bid to boost the livelihood opportunities in rural India, The government of India has launched ‘Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan’. The government is planning to spend Rs. 50,000 crore of funds for the project.

Reconnect and Rebound webinar on migrant workers employment and economyMSDE partners with SIDAC and DSC Kendrapara, to train 3000 women artisans: MSDE in partnership with SIDAC and DSC Kendrapara launched this first of its kind project or ‘Skill and Entrepreneurship Development of Women in Golden Grass Craft’. The project aims at skilling 3000 women artisans in golden grass craft in 12 villages of Kendrapara block, Kendrapara district, Odisha, and has been taken up as a National Pilot under SANKALP. Job platforms for migrant workers: With an aim to develop a job platform for migrant workers, Niti Aayog has formed a panel including top officials of tech companies like Google, Microsoft and Tech Mahindra. It aims to develop a platform that can help blue-collar workers find job opportunities in their own language and location.

Government to provide jobs to 6.7 million migrant workers: The government of India is going to provide jobs to 6.7 million migrant workers by pooling official projects. It is under the new scheme “Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan”. This job scheme will be applied in six states across India.

Over 96,000 people trained as Yoga Instructors and Trainers under Skill India Mission: MSDE organized a webinar to celebrate the sixth International Yoga Day. Over 96,000 people were trained as Yoga Instructor and Trainers under the Skill India mission. The webinar aimed at driving wider awareness regarding the benefits of yoga in improving physical fitness and mental agility. Read more…

RSDC to resume countrywide upskilling sessions from July: Rubber Skill Development Council (RSDC) is going to resume its countrywide upskilling sessions for industry and plantation workers as the demand in rubber gloves and catheters kicks in. Multi-skilling and upskilling sessions will get going, across the country, from July. New modules will be a mix of e-learning and field-classes.

Genpact’s internal skill training programme is now open for everyone for free: Genpact has made its internal learning programme open to students and professionals globally. Its online learning platform — Adapt and Rise — will now offer free courses to help professionals upskill in 13 roles including business analyst, digital program manager,finance and accounting professional, human resources and more.

Andhra Pradesh

CEMS Vizag collaborates with Rolls Royce to provide free skill training to unemployed female graduates: The Centre of Excellence in Maritime and Shipbuilding (CEMS) has announced a month-long skill development training programme in collaboration with Rolls Royce to provide job opportunities to unemployed female engineering and diploma graduates. CEMS will provide free skill training in design, electrical, automation, and robotics courses to over 100 engineering and diploma qualified female graduates as a part of the programme.  

Andhra Pradesh to partner with MNCs to set up skill development colleges: The government of Hyderabad has partnered with multinational companies like KIA Motors, Hyundai and Bosch to open skill development colleges in the state. Thirty new skill development colleges will be established across Andhra Pradesh at an estimated cost of Rs 1,210 crore. 

Madhya Pradesh

NTPC Khargone collaborates with Khargone Administration: NTPC Khargone has signed an MoU with Khargone Administration to set up COVID-19 ICU and Oxygen beds. As per the MoU, NTPC Khargone will provide an assistance of Rs 2.23 crores to the District Administration.

Punjab

Online training in customer care executive and supply chain management: Punjab Skill Development Commission is going to start online training in the two short term courses namely Customer Care Executive- Telecom and Supply Chain Management- Logistics. The training will be of 50 days duration and the pass outs will get certificates by the concerned sector skill council besides assisting them in procuring jobs.

Government ITI made Mission Fatah successful: All the government ITIs in Punjab have made the Chief Minister declare Mission Fatah successful by producing 14 lakh masks for Corona warriors as a contribution in the fight against the pandemic.

Telangana

CII collaborates with ALPLA to promote dual apprenticeship model: CII, Telangana has partnered with ALPLA India Ltd to promote dual apprenticeship model in Diploma education. The project will be implemented at ALPLA plant in Pashamylaram Industrial park.

Uttar Pradesh

Rural development department to train two lakh SHG women: The rural development department had tied up with various departments to train nearly two lakh women of SHGs under the state rural livelihood mission (SRLM). According to the proposal, a 15-day training will be provided to 1281 selected women in 10 blocks of 10 districts.

Uttar Pradesh forms a labour commission to help out migrant workers: The state government has set up Uttar Pradesh Labour (Employment Exchange and Job) Commission to ensure social and economic security for migrant workers. The workers in the state will be given access to employment opportunities by skill development.
