Youth4Jobs Foundation’s Divyanga Udyogothsavam celebrates the joy of job placements

The joy of getting a job is something to be celebrated. Youth4Jobs celebrated the placements of 400 disabled youth working in various companies at an event organized on 15th November 2017, called Divyanga Udyogothsavam. Hon’ble Deputy Mayor Md. Baba Fasiuddin participated along with Mr. Jayesh Ranjan IAS, Principal Secretary IT, Mr Jagdeeshwar IAS, Secretary, W&CD in Youth4Jobs Foundation. The occasion marked the joy, the youth with disabilities feel when they are trained by Y4J and placed in jobs. 400 working youth with disabilities from different parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh participated in the event.

Others attending the function were companies who have hired these youth and parents of Youth4Jobs. “We are happy to celebrate a home-grown Telangana model of skilling the most vulnerable, youth with disabilities, becoming the largest in the country.” Said Meera Shenoy Founder Youth4Jobs Foundation.

Said Jayesh Ranjan, “For the IT and other new investment companies coming into Telangana, the College Connect program is important. It is the need of the hour as MNCs want to be inclusive.

The dignitaries launched an “Alumni card” which gives the 11,500 youth trained in the last five years an identity and support in career progression. Course completion certificates were distributed to youth with disabilities working in Amazon, Pantaloons, Karvy, Aegies to name a few.

As part of the celebrations, a new program was launched called “College Connect”, Youth4Jobs will orient youth with disabilities in colleges and educational institutions and link them to employment. The pilot of this national program is being implemented in Telangana with the government institution, TASK (Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge). “TASK works with 500 colleges in 31 districts of Telangana.

Praveen an Alumni of Youth4Jobs, hails from Medak shared his experience of working with Amazon. He narrated how a Job in a multinational has helped him to be confident and support his family so that they can get a better life.

Indiramma mother of Vinod an speech-hearing impaired candidate said her Son getting a Job is a dream come true. Now she does not have to worry about him as he can live independently.

Navyatha, HR Manager, Lifestyle, Said the growth of her company depends on getting good talent. Out of the 500 persons with disabilities working in our stores, large number are from Youth4Jobs.

Youth4Jobs trains and places in jobs youth with disabilities from rural Areas. Headquartered in Hyderabad, Telangana, Y4J is the largest organisation in the country with 22 centres in 12 centres. In Telangana, the centres are in Hyderabad and Warangal.
