MoU signed between MoHFW, IGNOU and MSDE for skill development under Ayushman Bharat – Skill for Life, Save a Life

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between MoHFW, IGNOU and MSDE to offer skill-based training in the Healthcare sector under the “Skill for Life, Save a Life initiative”. Dignitaries present on the occasion included Hon’ble MoS, Ministry of Health Family Welfare , Sh. A K Choubey , Hon’ble Minister Human Resource Development, Sh. Prakash Javadekar, Hon’ble Minister of Health Family Welfare Sh. J P Nadda, Hon’ble Minister Skill and Development Entrepreneurship, Sh. Dharmendra Pradhan and Hon’ble MoS, Ministry of Health Family Welfare Smt. Anupriya Patel).

Commenting on the partnership, Shri. Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), said, “Skill development in India is moving with great speed and scale and this has only been possible with the support of our partner ministries. This is yet another milestone collaboration that we are witnessing today. It is a matter of great pride for us to enable this level of convergence and coordination which will be able to translate partnerships into meaningful public good and opportunities for all. The vision of our Hon’ble Prime Minister of Ayushman Bharat will only be possible through the creation of a large qualified, skilled and competent healthcare workforce.”
“These courses are mostly in preventive and tertiary care sector and it needs a lot of practical training along with individual compassion. Our courses under Skill India will ensure that our programs have a defined curriculum which will yield maximum quality benefit to candidates training in them. All the courses under this initiative are aligned to National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF),” he further added.

About 1.5 lakh youth with disabilities enrolled for skill training in Punjab

Over 1,48,000 youth have registered for the entrepreneur development programme, being run by the Ministry of Labour and Employment under its National Career Service scheme. The nodal centre at the GNDU, which is one of the three nodal centres in the state, has completed assessment of six courses that will be taught to people with disabilities (PWD), for those who have enrolled for employment.  Here’s the toll free helping number (18004251514) for PWDs to get registered through phone.

Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) teams up with Singapore firm to launch certificate courses

Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), in association with Singapore based company Skill SG ventures and SynchroServe India, launched international skill certification courses in Vijayawada.

These courses will be offered to the unemployed youth in the State and are a part of the initiatives launched by State Government under the Multi Entrepreneurship and Skills Hub (MESH).

3-day Tourism Department skill development programme conducted in Srinagar

A three-day orientation programme was organized in Srinagar by the Department of Tourism Kashmir for its officials which was aimed at skill enhancement and personality development. Many officials from other departments including SKICC, RSGC, and JKTDC also participated in this programme where professional trainers of national repute conducted the training. The main emphasis was on areas like communications skills, body language, values and etiquette of the staff posted at Tourist Reception Centres who receive tourists and handle their enquiries.

Authorities of private ITIs pulled up in Kerala

The authorities of some of the private ITIs in Kerala, which stopped courses offered by them without the approval of the Department of Industrial Training, have been asked to report to the principal of Government ITI. The principal, Govt ITI for Women stated that all efforts to contact the authorities of these institutes failed and If the authorities fail to report, legal action will be initiated against them without further notice.

Helpdesk and Call Centres to be set up for admission to Haryana ITIs

The Haryana Government has issued instructions for the creation of infrastructure for establishing helpdesk or call centre for online admission counselling for the 2018-19 session in Industrial Training Institutes.

The online admissions in all ITIs of the state will start in first week of July. The helpdesk and counselling centres will be established in all government lTls where trainees’ strength is more than 100 and where trainees’ strength is less than 100 but COPA trade is functioning.

Ministry issues guidelines to standardise usage of Skill India logo

Almost three years after the launch of Skill India programme by the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has rolled out guidelines for standardising the usage of the logo of the flagship programme, tagline and picture of the PM across all mediums of communication.

According to the guidelines, permission from the ministry should be taken for using the logo and tagline for any events, publications, website, portals and electronic media, and only official pictures of the PM can be used across creatives after approvals on each creative (print/social/hoarding/any other branding)
