Women Welding Fraternity Competition

Fronius India, a leader in welding technology and skill development, is thrilled to announce the Women Welding Fraternity Competition 2025 (WWFc-2025)—a groundbreaking initiative to recognize and celebrate the incredible contributions of women in welding. This competition aims to empower women welders, promote skill excellence, and foster academia-industry collaboration, creating new opportunities for women in this traditionally male-dominated field. The registrations for the competion are now open!

Welding has long been a crucial skill in the manufacturing and engineering industries, yet women have been underrepresented in this field for decades. Despite the challenges, many women have been breaking barriers, demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship, and making significant contributions to welding technology. As industries evolve, the need for skilled welders continues to grow, and it is essential to create an inclusive space where women can thrive and lead in technical professions.

Women Welding Fraternity Competition Highlights

Who can participate?

Open to female students and professionals across India from:

  • Academia: ITIs, Diploma & Skill Institutions, Engineering Colleges, R&D Institutes
  • Industry: Manufacturing sector professionals, including experienced and aspiring welders looking to showcase their skills.

Note: No registration or participation fees required!

Competition categories

  • Academia: Participants will be tested in SMAW and GMAW welding during the Zonal Level competition, evaluating precision and technique.
  • Industry: Competitors will be assessed in specialized disciplines:
    • Pipe Welder
    • Plate Welder
    • GMAW/GTAW & SMAW processes
    • Advanced welding techniques for complex industrial applications

Women Welding Fraternity Competition: How to participate?

  1. Register now! – Submit your registration before February 4, 2025, and take the first step toward an exciting welding career.
  2. Compete in selection rounds – Regional rounds at partner institutions on February 10-11, 2025, providing a platform to demonstrate knowledge and hands-on expertise.
  3. The grand finale – Finalists battle for the top spot on March 6-7, 2025, with winners announced on March 8, 2025, in celebration of International Women’s Day. This final event will serve as an inspiration for women in technical trades and promote greater gender diversity in welding.

Selection process

  1. Preliminary pound – Welding knowledge & skill assessment (theory & practical tests) at regional levels using SMAW and/or GMAW manual processes. Theoretical evaluations will test understanding of welding principles, while practical tests will assess precision, technique, and execution.
  2. Final found – Live competition between regional winners and runner-ups at C.V. Raman Global University, Bhubaneswar. The final round will include hands-on challenges, with top industry professionals evaluating the techniques and craftsmanship of participants.

Awards and recognition

  • Cash rewards and certificates for national-level winners, recognizing their expertise and excellence.
  • Medals and certificates for all participants at the national level (Winner & Runner-Up), ensuring acknowledgment of skill and dedication.
  • Exclusive training opportunities to advance welding skills and career prospects, including industry-led workshops and mentorship programs.
  • Spotlight in industry publications – Winners and notable participants will be featured in industry newsletters, publications, and digital platforms to increase visibility and career opportunities.
